Biography
My name is Trisha Dahal, and I hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree with a major in Art and Visual Technology, specializing in Studio Arts and Photography. My passion for photography began during my sophomore year of high school, where I discovered it as a potential career path and began exploring the world of art.
I continued my academic journey at Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA), where I encountered a professor who greatly influenced my decision to pursue photography. After transferring to NOVA, I discovered a photography class that solidified my decision to change my major. Through the Advanced Program at NOVA and George Mason University (GMU), I was able to smoothly transition to GMU to continue my studies.
Attending Mason was an incredible experience, and I was honored to have my work published in Volition (George Mason art and literacy magazine) in Fall 2022. I also had the privilege of contributing to the magazine as an Art and Peer Reviewer, and during my final year, I served as the Art and Photo Editor. In this role, I helped promote the magazine and fostered collaboration between students and professors, further strengthening the art community within the school.
Since graduating, life has been fulfilling as I take time to relax while actively applying for job opportunities. I am deeply grateful for the support and mentorship I received from my professors throughout my academic journey. Their guidance taught me invaluable skills in both creating and critiquing art. I would like to especially thank Professor Mimi, my lighting professor, who pushed me to think creatively and expand my technical skills beyond my comfort zone.
As I embark on the next chapter of my career, I am excited to continue exploring new artistic avenues and further developing my work. I believe life is always beautiful when surrounded by art, and I look forward to the opportunities that lie ahead.
